Re: Picked up my annual "Winter Project".

Nothing picture-worthy, reinstalled the radiator and have the engine oil and shaft drive lube draining. Need to lube the throttle and clutch cables. I'll be in town later today, I'll pick up oil, gear lube and some distilled water and refill all the fluids. Probably grab a battery while I'm at it. I...

Re: Picked up my annual "Winter Project".

Today's project was replacing all the o-rings in the plumbing for the radiator. 8 of 'em... Some of them I probably could have re-used, but several were pretty crusty and the one for the thermostat had been pinched so it probably already leaked. Wire-wheeled the hardware and put a dab of copper neve...

Re: Picked up my annual "Winter Project".

https://i.imgur.com/yEDlDdT.jpg Well, it was definitely connector failure. Things got hot enough to melt the halves of the connector together which is probably why they left it there. I had to break it to get it apart. Whoever repaired it did a decent job of splicing the wires so I'll leave it as i...

Re: Winchester Model 12

Sounds like a good plan.

My first gun was a Model 12 in 20 gauge. Actually my Dad's but it was "mine" while I lived at home.

Yeah, I'm weird that way

I'll probably wind up selling it for less than I have invested in it when I'm all done.

Re: Picked up my annual "Winter Project".

Progress Report #2 1. I completed the initial survey, kitted the carbs and got it to run briefly. I'd drained the coolant, didn't want to overheat it, plus the newly kitted carbs were leaking. 2. I had the carbs off and back on again. I'm getting pretty good at that... Roll Eyes When I kitted...

Mower Repair

mower003.jpg The 28 year old deck on my mower is getting a little tender in spots. The area where the right front caster wheel mounts had several holes blown through and was pretty tender overall, so I cut the whole shebang out. mower004.jpg mower005.jpg mower006.jpg I grabbed a piece of metal of a...

Re: Getting close

That looks perfect, Jim.

Is that the actual book, or a sample to display the cover?

One copy is fine for me, looking forward to it.
