wet here

Post by RickyB » Thu Sep 03, 2020 9:20 am

5.1 inches of rain yesterday and close to an inch this morning. We were in a bad drought but getting a few months rain in one day is helping that. Cotton harvest had started but this put a damper on that.

Wow, 6" in 24 hours is a lot. Whereabouts in TX are you? I lived in central TX for nearly 4 years, and have visited around the state a few times on business.

Here in west-central Maryland we've gotten quite a bit too, but it has been spread over several weeks...didn't really see our normal mid-Summer dry spell this year.

I hope you got what you needed, and in the future it comes more moderately.

My eldest son was born in the "Kings Daughters" hospital in Temple! Our first house was in Copperas Cove, what, maybe 30-40 minutes from Temple? It has been nearly 40 years since I was last there, but I had a great few years in that area.

I lived in San Antonio for three years when I was married to an AF airman who was stationed at Lackland AFB. Several of the neighbors took me in road trips to visit beautiful places. I love TX but have not been back.

Weather here? Rainy and breezy. I'm keeping an eye on those damn storms coming off of Africa and nearing the Tropical Atlantic...

Be well my friends! Off to buy groceries!
