'nother new puppy

Post by Bkeepr » Sun Mar 15, 2020 6:59 am

A too-long story, but with 2 older bird dogs and a 10-month old puppy, I'm suddenly going to pick up a 4-month old pup, too.

They're wonderful dogs (Spinone Italiano, description here: https://www.gundogmag.com/editorial/gun ... 808/175348), and they're great both in the home and in the field. But they *are* large (my boy is 105 lbs, the adult girly is about 80, and neither is fat), and the circumstances that we're taking her are sad, so this is one time getting a new pup is bittersweet at best.

Anyway, leaving in a few minutes to finish filling the house with our fourth spin...hope to be back home in about 10-12 hours.

y'all have a great day

Well, the short version of a long story is this: we couldn't decide between two puppies, so we got them both.

yeah, they're big--little over 4 months old, and around 35 lbs each...and eating 2 measuring cups of food, 3 times a day, *EACH.*

We're just playing so far today, making sure we "go" outside, and meeting the other 3 dogs and the cats and learning boundaries. Their natural retrieving instincts are certainly there, as they're already starting to bring me toys when I toss them.

Here's my family, less than 24 hours after bringing the new puppies home...fully integrated into the fabric of the place.

Nice looking bunch of pups! Clever of you to get carpets that match the dog hair...

That is smart them color coordinated pups to match the carpet. Is that why it is called Car PET?

Wish I could take credit for the carpet color, but I can't. Fact is, that's a *black* carpet, and we *never* waste time vacuuming it!
