I am still here homies.

My excuse for not writing, is that in my old place, I walked by the computer 50 times a day. Now, I have to climb a flight of stairs to get to it.

So, we are finally settled in at Laquey, Mo. That is pronounced Lake Way. It is about 5 miles west of Fort Leonard Wood. It is in Pulaski county.
Instead of 2 hours to the grandkids, it is 5 minutes to their school, and about 10 minutes to their house.

I am setting here right now listening to cannon fire from the artillery range. I think they have pulled out all of the A-10's due to Iran, but up until a month ago we could watch and hear daily training of the A-10's. If the wind was right those gatling gun sounded like they were right in the back yard. If they caught you unaware it sure made you wake up quick. In the afternoon I could set on the back deck with a cold one and watch them dive in to the target. It took the sound 13 seconds to reach me. BBbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrtttttt. For a military nut like me it is pretty cool.

We have the house mostly under control. But I still need to get my shop in order.. I have played musical shops for about the last 15 years. Hope this is my last one. This shop is about half the one I had up at the farm, but it is still pretty nice.

We are getting over a bad case of the crud. Tammy and I both have been on Amoxicillan for about a week. But I am getting out and doing some work.

Looks like this site is pretty dead if it were not for Jim. Good ole Jim, making the last stand. If you dont mind, type in a quick reply to me to let me know who is still kicking. I have not been able to see anything or figure out what happened to Beekeeper. I have asked about him several times, no one responds back. Hope he is still well

That is about it for now. Take care everyone, Gene in Mo.

Gene,

I love the A-10. Back when I was an artilleryman, I was selected to work with them for several weeks to help develop tactics, techniques and procedures for using them in Europe. I was exciting because besides a lot of meeting-room time, I also got a lot of actual calling for fire from the A-10s to test out what worked and didn't. It was freaking cool...at one point I had them opening up overhead, and the empty casings came raining down all over as they'd pass my position. I collected some, but decided not to try to get them out of country as US Customs was crazy tight on us.

Anyway, I'm still here, still alive...and glad to see that you are, too.

Alive and kicking...

I check the board every morning and thought it was even deader than usual, then noticed I'd been logged out (which happens occasionally) and wasn't seeing new posts.

Same old same old here in East Overshoe. Mow the lawn, water the flowers, eat, sleep, repeat...
