Good friend drowned yesterday

Post by GeneMO »

He was my roommate for a semester when I was at MU. We were Fraternity brothers at FarmHouse, in the mid 1970's. All I know is that he was mowing around a lake. I am guessing the tractor slipped into the water and maybe overturned in deep water trapping him. I am just guessing at this point.

He Farmed at Shelbina MO. Sure made me sad to hear about it.

A reminder to be as careful as we can. Farming and tractor accidents dont cut you any slack.

Sorry for your loss, Gene.

We do things so much we get on auto-pilot and forget about the dangers.

I’m sorry, Gene. I guess we all need a reminder occasionally about being more careful. I know I do something stupid every once in awhile, and a reminder like this makes me think twice for awhile. Thanks for that. Peace to you, and your friend’s family.

Come to find out, he was on a zero turn mower, mowing around his lake. I didn't find out if anyone witnessed the accident, or found him after the fact. Still a bad deal. Probably not considered a farming accident.
