West Point bans minority clubs of any sort.

As it should be I think.

We are all Americans, or should be. I am so tired of whoever is behind the constant push to divide America. They know they can not beat a united America, so they are doing their best to fragment us.

Foreign power? Enemy? I am not smart enough to know who is behind all this.

Sorry Gene I do not have enough brain cells left to understand what you're talking about. Please give me some more details so I might understand.
I'm thinking maybe you talking about the whole political system? I for one believe the whole problem starts in Washington DC regardless of which party is running the show. Crooks are just like anybody else they all look the same you can't tell a crook by just looking in their eyes.
You know there's a saying if a politician lips are moving he's lying!
I asked Atty. Mick here in the Philippines why he hadn't got into the political scene because I thought it would make a very good president. He replied because as soon as he registered to run in any election he would immediately be labeled a liar and that he is not.

Just my two centavos.

I've posted and then deleted replies to this a couple of times already. I am going to put in my 2 cents worth, and maybe leave it.

I attended West Point and graduated in 1979. I'm familiar with how things used to be there, and still have old friends there as instructors or who have kids who graduated recently so I'm sort of in the loop with how things are today.

West Point has had "clubs," probably for all of its 223 year history. Clubs are just groups of cadets with common interests who get together during their off duty time. When I was there, I was in a Military Weapons club because shooting guns from all over the world and from history interested me...but it wasn't for everybody. Other clubs that existed at that time were spiritual (I recall separate clubs for Catholics, Protestants, Baptists, and there were probably others), sports (cycling, swimming, marathon, etc), and even one for Black/African-American cadets.

I don't recall any of them receiving funding from the Academy, although they did get donations from parents, cadets, and graduates. I also don't recall there being any issues surrounding any of them-- we were all "brother in arms," and honestly would do just about anything for other classmates, particularly. I seriously doubt there would have been any issue at all if I (a blond, blue eyed white boy) had joined the Black Cadet club...I just didn't have any more interest in that than I did in swimming or the Math club.

So, with that as background I have to say I disagree with the Army doing away with clubs at West Point. Life there is intense/miserable enough without officials going out of their way to make it worse. The clubs--regardless of what their topic is--hurt nobody, are not divisive, and don't cost the Army anything.

that's my 2 cents anyway. Hopefully I have not once again crossed the line into politics. If I have, Paul please delete this...if I haven't already.

I think Paul said way back when that we were on our own as for politics. He didn't want to baby sit up. I knew you were West Point, so that is why I put it on here, and really, just to get your take. I didn't know all the ins or outs of how it all worked.

In private life, I have seen the Woke bunch ruin the Boy Scouts, but the Girl scouts survive and are still selling cookies. The Lesbians invaded and took over our little rural United Church of Christ, and then took over the state Synod. Funny how the church had a big pot of money they had raised since the Mid 1800's. It just seems like every group is being targeted. I was in an Agricultural Fraternity at the University of Missouri in the 1970's. The Woke bunch closed them down over alleged hazing. The Frat was founded in 1905 and was the Alpha chapter of all the FH frats in the US. We had to close for two years. We built a new house. ($5 million). The Woke bunch took over, and now there is not a single Agriculture student in the frat. The Wokies took us over and ruined us. The Boy Scouts are ruined. The NRA is basically gone, (Because of Waynes fraud? dont know)

There is some group or bunch that is trying their damned best to divide America. I just see things going to Hell. When I was at MU in the early 70's, there were various clubs and groups, but mostly they were not recognized by the school, and had to be considered "off campus"

Thanks for letting us now how things worked at WP Tom, I knew you could set us straight.

Read Tom's response. I guess West Point had a variety of groups, and they were closed down due to Trumps ban on DEI. Maybe it is time to examine the values of the various clubs. Anything government funded need to be "A-political"
