Well it is over, and official. After at least one year, we moved 108 miles to the south. To be close to family and grandkids. We live close to Fort Leonard Wood. Little town of Laquey Mo. Pronounced "Lake-Way" Our house is in the Mark Twain National Forest. We bought a house, shop, and 5 acres of rocks and timber. I kept my home farm up north. I am going to see how much I use the farm, and may sell later. Land prices up home are crazy. Several farms sold 4 miles from me for over $12,000 an acre. These were not real small tracts, One was 80 and the other 120 acres.
This move has about killed me. I have lost 20 pounds. Worked my old ass off. We bought a 12' enclosed trailer, and I think I made 14-15 trips.
Thankfully I could leave some stuff at the hunting cabin and on the home farm. Guess when I die it will be someone elses problem.
Hope you all are fine. Merry Christmas.

My trials and tribulations
Re: My trials and tribulations
Twice in the last several years, we have contemplated selling and moving. Seriously enough that we contacted a realtor and put out a sign.
Both times, the prospect of the extended hassle prompted us to abandon the idea.
If we WERE to move, I'd hire it done and eat the bill. There may be some activity that's more of a pain in the ass than moving, but it doesn't occur to me what it might be.
