Re: Apples, extortion department
Apple is a totalitarian company. Everything has to be their way or no way, but I have to give them props for introducing, or at least popularizing quite a few things that we take for granted today. Like the GUI (Graphical User Interface). Apple didn't invent it ZEROX did, but Apple made it work and ...
Re: LPG
Propane is getting expensive here too. Last year we filled our tank for $1.25/gallon, this year I had it topped off at $2.20/gallon. Still cheaper than electric heat, but not as cheap as it used to be.

Re: Do you remember?
I don't think those hairdo's were from Brylcreem. I remember my sisters hairdos and they used Aqua net hair spray for that.
Brylcreem would have held the hair down and made it flat, and slicker'n snot on a doorknob.

Brylcreem hair cream. AKA greasy kid stuff. Brings back some old, long repressed memories.
It allowed guys too keep their Ducks Ass (DA) haircuts in place. Think John Travolta in "Grease".

Very sorry to hear that news Jim. There is a chance that the lump isn't cancer, but by all means get it checked out as soon as possible. We've both had our bouts with cancer here and early action can mean everything.

My deepest sympathies for your loss.

Was seeing reports that Hurricane Erin passed by Puerto Rico over the weekend.

Re: After 10 months, it still hurts
I haven't posted here in quite awhile. I only stop by occasionally. Last October 4th I lost Marci my love and best friend to cancer. I never thought she would go before me or that she would lose the battle even after she was diagnosed.
If you have someone in your life that you love, make sure you ...

Re: Jim relates another of his experiences
I have given "bums" some occasional money. but mostly have stopped, because so many of them are obviously just using it as a tax free "job"
Hard to give money away when I worked hard to get it. Now, if I could just determine who the really needy were.

That is the issue, exactly. I've ...
