Just finished 20 days of radiation treatments. Sumbitch that hurts !!

I had to be different. I have cancer in the nerves of my left hand. From my farming years and now the immunosuppressive drugs for my transplant let the cancer run wild. I had 3 more biopsies yesterday. It will eventually get me. But for now I am still plugging away. Drink a cold beer for me as a toast. But all in all I am still doing OK.

Gene, thanks for checking in, we missed you.

Sorry to hear about your cancer, and the treatment pain. It’s difficult when we begin to realize that things we did in the past, farming or military or whatever, come back to haunt our present. Prayers that your tests come back with good news.

So, the hand is healing up well. But the 3 biopsies I just had showed 2 are squamous cell carcinoma. So I have to have Mohs surgery to fix those. My dermatologist is changing some of the meds hoping to hold these things more at bay. He had reduced my dosage because it was causing my triglycerides to rise. His thinking now is that raising the meds back up will be better in the long run.
