Why I don't do Facebook.
Too many Bible thumper.
Too many hate mongers.
Too many racist.
Too many small minded individuals.
Too many asshole.
They all not like that, but as far as I'm concerned, there's way too many. I am on Facebook, but not as a member. I'm there because I'm the husband of Maria. That being said, I must be all of the above excepting maybe the Bible thumper.
I did join Facebook years ago, but after I ran across way too many hate groups I decided I didn't want to be a part of it and cancel my subscription. But I soon realize that being married to a member automatically added me on, even though I didn't want anything to do Facebook.
Facebook does do a very piss poor job of censoring, according to their own rules and regulations.
When the Internet automatically takes me to Facebook. I only go there long enough to hit the delete button.

I wasn't on it long enough to discover what you have. I just found it to be a HUGE waste of time and I have enough of those as it is.

I use it for all of my particular interests. There is a FB group for danged near anything. I am on several reloading and bullet casting groups. at least 8-10 Farmall tractor groups, a Chain saw sharpening group, several Native plants groups, 3-4 groups on .22 rimfire rifles, One on Marlin rifles, and one on the Japanese Arisaka rifles, 4-5 military history groups, and then there is the Dillards group from the Andy Griffith show. I also have two sites that do a daily "This day in Missouri History", and "This day in US history". I learn new stuff daily. I have my problems with FB as well, but if someone gives me crap, I get a special form of Perverse pleasure in blocking their ASS and then they are lost to the Ethernet from me forever.

I have a love-hate relationship with FB. Like Paul and Jim, I hate it for being a time sink, and filled with a$$ho1es. But like Gene, I find a lot of good stuff, too. Historical groups are fascinating, how to groups, and I’ve gotten rid of a lot of junk quick and easy on FB marketplace. And I have run into and stayed in touch with many old friends and relatives that I probably wouldn’t otherwise. So, yes it’s a PITA, but on balance there’s more benefit to me than trouble.

Gene, there’s several FB accounts with your name, but I am pretty sure I know which is you so I will send you a friend request.

I am on Facebook as Tom Aeillo…there’s several of us, too, but I think I am the only one who spells my last name the way I do.

I am thinking about starting a FB Group for anyone interested, something like “Home away from Home” or “Country Home Refugees” or something like that. I will post that here if I do and we’ll see if anyone is interested.

That sounds good. I think my FB account should be just Gene Painter. You might try searching with that name, plus maybe Boonville, Mo. or Pilot Grove Mo. Then you would know it is me.

Hey Jim !! Tom has set up a Facebook page called "Home away from Home" Can you get on there? Dont want to leave you, but sounds like this site is dying. Sad. But sign of the times.
